Central Iowa GPA Calendar of Events
Join GPA for a Day at the Capitol! This is your opportunity to learn how state funding and laws affecting your work are made. We will be meeting with Senator Matt Blake and others to discuss our profession and how we can work together to make an impact for good in Iowa. Sentator Blake represents Urbandale after having served on the Urbandale City Council and in the Iowa Army National Guard as a Judge Advocate. GPA will also supplement this with a quick lesson (and practice) in how to speak with your representatives at the Capitol, as well as a on-demand advocacy training (details TBD) for grant professionals that will discuss how you can use your voice and expertise to advocate for issues important to our profession and nonprofits. Please Note! In order to accommodate the busy schedule of Senator Blake, our meeting will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18. This is a different time from our usual meeting. In addition, the Day at the Capitol meeting will NOT be available virtually.
