ABOUT US
What is the Central Iowa GPA? The Grant Professionals Association (GPA) is an international membership association for everyone in the grants industry. GPA helps grant professionals seek to continually improve their professional knowledge and skills in grant research, proposal development, and post-award grant management. GPA sets the standard with a commitment to ethical practices, high-quality educational offerings, excellence in resources, and a community of professionals committed to serving the public good. The Central Iowa Chapter of GPA was established in 2015 to provide a professional community where grant professionals from central Iowa and across the state can network, learn, and share about grants. Our Chapter meets bi-monthly and provides additional social and networking opportunities outside of Chapter meeting months. Visitors are always welcome to attend one of our meetings for free to learn more!Chapter MeetingsOur bi-monthly meetings typically last 90 minutes. We have a short business meeting (15 minutes or less) followed by a training topic. We offer a mix of both in-person and virtual meetings, and we are working on offering all in-person meetings in a hybrid format for members who live outside of the greater Des Moines area. No RSVP is necessary for Chapter meetings. Additionally, visitors may attend their first meeting free. Please check the Calendar of Events for upcoming meeting dates.Other Chapter ActivitiesGrant writers like to have fun, too! Our Chapter holds a number of networking and social gatherings throughout the year. These events are a great opportunity to get to know fellow GPA Chapter members and build connections in our Central Iowa grant community. Please check the Calendar of Events and follow our Facebook Page to receive information on all upcoming events and activities. Want to Learn More?
